Accessibility
StitchWorks Studio is committed to making our website and our studio welcoming and usable for everyone, including people with disabilities. Accessibility is part of our inclusive approach to training and to serving Canada's diverse communities.
Standards we aim for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, and we align with the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). These standards guide how we design content, colour, structure and interaction.
What we have built in
- A "skip to main content" link and clear, consistent heading structure on every page.
- Keyboard-operable navigation, with a visible focus outline on interactive elements.
- Colour combinations chosen to meet AA contrast, and text that resizes without breaking the layout.
- Descriptive text alternatives for meaningful graphics, and labelled form fields and controls.
- A responsive layout that works down to small mobile screens without horizontal scrolling.
- Respect for the "reduce motion" setting, which turns off non-essential animation.
Accommodations at the studio
Our training is designed to be accessible, with flexible formats including short courses and online or hybrid modules. If you need an accommodation to take part in a program or workshop, let us know and we will do our best to arrange it.
Report a barrier
If you encounter an accessibility barrier on this website or at the studio, we want to hear about it. Contact us at info@stitchworksstudio.ca or call (437) 559-2990, and we will work with you to provide the information or service you need in an accessible way.
