The craft story

A studio built around the needle, not the screen.

Tailoring is learned at the machine, hands on the fabric. StitchWorks Studio was founded by Uzma Rahman to pass on more than a decade of garment-making craft — patternmaking, stitching sequences, finishing standards — the way it is meant to be taught.

We are a vocational studio in Waterloo, Ontario, equipping individuals — particularly women and youth — with practical, job-ready skills for Canada's growing tailoring and fashion-services sector. Every program moves from first stitch to a finished, sellable garment.
